InOctober 2020, HBIS Group (HBIS) — one of the world’s largest steel producers, with a crude steel capacity exceeding 40 million tons per year — commissioned two new straight-grate pelletizing lines at its plant in Laoting, Tangshan, Hebei Province.

Each line has an annual capacity of 4.8 million tons. Total investment exceeded 3 billion yuan. The EPC contractor was one of China’s leading metallurgical engineering institutes.

Six months after commissioning, the upper sidewalls on the pallet cars began showing severe burn-through. The original supplier replaced a batch under warranty. Within months, the new ones failed the same way.

The plant’s maintenance team was under enormous pressure. Unscheduled downtime was costing production. They urgently needed a supplier who could solve the problem — for good.

They reached out to several alternatives. Several alternative solutions were evaluated, but the problem remained unresolved.

We started small — just a batch of upper sidewalls and grate bars for trial. They monitored performance closely.

Month after month, the parts held up. The team grew confident.

By December 2023, every single upper sidewall on the 4.8 MTPY line had been replaced with our products.

Today — they continue to run reliably without burn-through issues.
